Peacock Chairs

Featuring Solid American Ash timber and a natural woven rattan seat this highly accurate reproduction of the original 1947 Peacock chair is fully hand crafted. When Finn Juhl first saw this chair he took note of the unusual design and commented on its unique back naming it "The Peacock Chair”. Originally designed by Hans Wegner in 1947, the Peacock name stuck with the chair. A modernist take on the Classic English Windsor Chair, Its intentional modern lines are not merely a matter of looks. The sweeping back with its extravagantly shaped sticks are a feat of ergonomic aesthetics. Specifically, the flat part of the sticks, which gives the chair its peacock-like appearance. These are positioned at the point where the shoulder-blades meet the chair's back.
